Straight answers
Everything Jacksonville asks us before booking — costs, Florida licensing rules, scheduling, and how we work with hosts and landlords. If your question isn't here, call or text and you'll get the same straight answer.
How much does a handyman cost in Jacksonville, FL?
Most handyman jobs in Jacksonville cost $95–$450, and typical 1-to-3-hour repairs land between $150 and $300. Our minimum service visit is $95. We publish price ranges for every service on our pricing page and quote every job flat before starting.
Does a handyman need a license in Florida?
Florida does not require a license for true handyman work — painting, drywall repair, flooring, cabinetry, pressure washing, caulking, trim carpentry, and similar services are expressly exempt under Florida Statute 489.117. What a handyman may NOT legally do without a state license is electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, or structural work — at any price. We stay strictly inside the legal scope and refer licensed pros for the rest.
Can a handyman replace a ceiling fan or light fixture in Florida?
No — connecting any wiring is licensed electrical work in Florida, and that includes ceiling fans, wired light fixtures, outlets, and switches. Any handyman who offers to do it is working illegally, and you carry the risk. We refer a licensed electrician we trust for that work.
Can a handyman replace a faucet or toilet in Florida?
Replacing fixtures connected to the plumbing system is licensed plumbing work under Florida rules, so we refer faucet, toilet, disposal, and water heater replacement to a licensed plumber. Minor repairs like cartridge and aerator swaps, plus everything around the fixture — caulk, hardware, seats — we handle.
Do you fix things for Airbnb hosts between guests?
Yes — turnover-window repairs are one of our core services. Tell us the check-out and check-in times and we schedule inside the gap. Smart locks, caulk, railings, furniture, doors — the guest-facing fixes that protect your rating.
Can you do repairs at my rental while the tenant lives there?
Yes. We coordinate the appointment directly with your tenant, show up in the promised window, and send you photos of the completed work. You never have to play middleman.
How fast can I get someone out?
Quotes go out the same business day, and most jobs are scheduled within the week. Airbnb turnover deadlines and vacant-unit turns get priority scheduling.
What is your minimum job size? Do you really take small jobs?
Small jobs ARE the business. Our minimum visit is $95, which covers most single fixes. We built First Coast Fix specifically for the 1-to-3-hour jobs that contractors will not schedule — there is no job too small to call about.
Are you insured?
Yes — fully insured with general liability coverage. Certificates of insurance available for property managers, condo buildings, and commercial properties on request.
Do you serve commercial properties?
Yes — offices, retail, and rental buildings, within the same scope Florida law permits for unlicensed work. Permit-required and licensed-trade work is referred to our network of licensed contractors.
How do I get a quote?
Three ways: fill out the form on any page, call or text us, or text photos of the job directly. Photos are usually enough to quote a flat price without a site visit, the same business day.
Do you offer recurring maintenance?
Yes — monthly maintenance plans for Airbnb hosts ($129/mo per property) and landlords ($99/mo per unit) with scheduled inspections, priority repairs, 10% off all work, and photo reports. Month-to-month, no contracts.
Send us the job. Get a flat quote today.
Text a photo or fill out the form — we quote small jobs the same day and usually schedule within the week.
